CVSCAFT-TCC BSCompE ES411 Bohol Tour

Posted by: Macky

I can’t deny that I am also a tourist of my own Bohol province. Never did I reach the whole towns of Bohol but I wish I did. So when our college decided to have an industrial tour in Bohol for the completion of our subject Engineering Materials and Testing, I was excited and got the energy to go.

Bohol Beach Club, Panglao Island, Bohol

Posted by: Pinas

The attraction of the Bohol Beach Club is its setting in a vast wooded area, far from the animation of Alona Beach and its particularly superb beach stretching over 4 km of white sand. It is the only resort in Panglao that has a really attractive beach, as the frontage of some resorts is often reduced to narrow strips of sand. The resort belongs to the Tambuli Resorts that also own the Tambuli Beach Club and Villa in Mactan, Cebu.

After crossing the garden, you enter a large building with an impressive nipa ceiling that houses the lobby and the restaurant. Constructed with a high bamboo framework, the building opens onto the swimming pool, and further on, to the sea. To the right of the reception area, a sandy track lined with large clay jars, is shaded by a magnificent arbor of fuchsia bougainvillea up to the bungalows.

Tortas from Bohol

Posted by: Marketman

One of the incredible advantages of frequent flights by budget carriers such as Cebu Pacific to and from Tagbilaran is that oven fresh tortas such as these can be baked in the early morning and be savored in Manila for merienda that afternoon… Cebuano and Boholano tortas are cakes, not eggy and meaty omelettes. I have written about them before, and even posted this recipe, which is really a more modern version made with lots of butter, and which is bake-able almost anywhere in the world. The traditional tortas are often heavy with lard, denser and incredibly rich with lots of eggyolks. I was once told that tortas in a little town in Southern Cebu were preferably mae with lard from the previous year’s fiesta, hence AGED fat for additional flavor. Not too many folks still make these with the traditional recipes as they are practically goading one to keel over with coronary failure, but they are good.

Bohol Bound: The Best of Bohol

Posted by: Tanya

You should know that the airport of Bohol is in Tagbilaran City, which is their commercial district. The best beaches and resorts are in Panglao, which is 45 mins away from the city. Then the city tour and famous sights of Bohol are scattered across diff areas of this province, so you would need to rent a car to get around.

In my other post, I mentioned that transportation of Bohol is a lucrative industry. There are a lost of Boholanos who can offer to take you around Bohol's must-see sites (apparently there is a standard list) and act as your tour guide for Php 1800-2200. When going to this area, I suggest that you find a driver slash tour guide so you can save on transpo costs. And chances are, they also know people who can tour you by sea around the islands for snorkeling or dolphin-watching. As I said, it is a booming business.

Bohol Getaway

Posted by: dino & haze

Philippines has 1,107 islands and Bohol is one of it’s beautiful sites. It is located in the Central Visayas Region. The place is accessible from the west of Cebu, from the northeast Island of Leyte and and to the South of Mindanao. You could just simply take a ferry boat to cross the island if you are to appreciate the sceneries. For those who are in a haste and with hectic itineraries you could also take the plane. They are known because of it’s famous attraction…the Chocolate Hills which consist of 1268 hills (not man made), though. See how nature works an artist of itself. According to Boholanos the chocolate hills change its colours during summer season. They became brown as a chocolate.

The Bohol Nine Yards

Posted by: ton2fig

A good half an hour ride took us from the Port of Tagbilaran through the charmless island capital city to the rolling hills and chalk-white beaches of Panglao Island, where we checked in at Flower Garden Resort.

The resort is a good five minute walk away from Alona beach through Alona Palm Resort. While admiring the spectacular beach views, we found lunch at Trudis Place. We also found out that there was a brownout at the time.

We spent the rest of the afternoon at the beach and had dinner at the iconic Alona Tropical restaurant. Grilled food and lots of rice was served to cap the day. Mixed cocktails and junk food followed soon afterwards.

My Beloved Bohol

Posted by: mariepreciousmoments

I was born and grew up in Bohol. It's been more than 2 years that I'm away. One way to ease my homesickness is to just look at some photos.

You can reach Bohol almost any time of the day. There are many scheduled trips if you choose to take the ship or fast ferries from Cebu City pier to Tagbilaran port or to Tubigon port. You can take a flight from Cebu or Manila to Tagbilaran airport and enjoy the breathtaking view of the sea.
