Bohol Bee Farm – Here’s the Buzz

Bohol Bee Farm can tell you about the birds and bees, and the flowers, and the trees, and the sweet honey they make. It’s a perfect place for relaxation and good food, especially if you are up to trying salad made of flower petals.

Our day trip to Bohol Bee Farm in Panglao Island entailed a tour of the farm, lots of shopping for honey products and pretty handicrafts, enjoying the view of Mindanao Sea, and of course, a lesson about bee farming. Bohol Bee Farm is a resort and restaurant, providing accommodation and spa services, but day trips are also possible for those staying in other hotels.

From boxing ring to small screen

Some 24 hours after retaining his International Boxing Federation (IBF) flyweight crown, I had the pleasure of chatting with Nonito Donaire Jr. in an interview arranged by Startalk (portions of which you will get to watch on the show this Saturday at 2:30 p.m. on GMA 7).

Nonito — or Jun-Jun — looked very relaxed seated across me and that wasn’t surprising at all since he had it easy on the day of his fight: He had quickly demolished in a technical knockout American Raul Martinez in the fourth round.

Overseas Boholanos on Medical Mission during TBTK 2009

The TBTK 2009 Schedule of Activities from July 14-26 is already prepared in earnest.

From the Boholano balikbayans’ appointed meeting with President Gloria M. Arroyo in Malacanang Palace in the nation’s capital of Manila on day one, to the subsequent social functions calendared in the days thereafter. Many of which are held in Tagbilaran City,Bohol, the venue site of most TBTK activities. So also in the neighboring municipalities as Baclayon, where an International Derby is to be held. A Tour in Bohol - with photos

One of the greatest things about my country, the Philippines, being am archipelago, has so many beautiful islands to see. One of these famous island is Bohol in the Visayas region and I was fortunate enough to have visited this island paradise tow times already. Here is an account of my experience in my latest tour in Bohol.

This was my second time to be in Bohol but I'm as excited as all the rest are.

It was still dark when we departed from Cebu at 6:05 A.M. on board Ocean Jet. We were a party of six anticipating tourists; Wendell and me, our tour organizer Inday, my cousin Vance, my Aunt Sarah and Mr. James Chapman - our special guest from Portland, Indiana, USA.

The Wonders of the River Loboc

Bohol is often compared to Cebu. Unsurprisingly, the smaller and quieter province that is Bohol might pale in comparison to the flashier and richer state that is Cebu. Cebu can match and debatably exceed what Bohol has to offer – think of beach resorts, centuries-old churches, business buzz, cosmopolitan and entertainment sophistication. But not really. When it comes to natural bounties, Bohol can easily outshine Cebu. Here’s just a short litany of Bohol’s natural wonders that Cebu could envy: wider reefs and sandbars, taller waterfalls, larger caverns, more exotic fauna.

And let me add, the River that is Loboc. For all of Cebu’s chutzpah, my home province sorely lacks a raging voluminous freshwater river that has the size in life and energy of Loboc.

Bohol, Philippines By Ged

It was my first trip off the island of Luzon and it was to one of the best tourist destinations in the country, Bohol!

We arrived 2 hours early at the airport because my friend over estimated the time. Then our 9AM flight was delayed nearly 2 hours because of the bad weather and because some sort of traffic in the field when we were already on board.

We arrived at Tagbilaran Airport at a little pass noon. The landing was a bit rough, but the plane arrived in one piece and so did we, so it was okay. So much for my first plane flight.

Experience summertime in Bohol

SUMMER is one of the best times to take a break and one of the best places to be, by then, is Bohol. Bohol is perhaps one of the country’s most popular tourist spots because of the world famous Chocolate Hills and the world’s smallest primate, the Tarsier. But other than these two, you will be surprised to find that Bohol caters to a lot of different people with different interests too.

It is undeniably an island rich in natural beauty both on land and under the sea. It’s one of the places here in the Philippines that take pride with their beaches. Panglao Island, which is just a few minutes away from its capital, Tagbilaran city, is where some of the best beaches are located.
