Bloodstone - Chapter Eight

Posted by: Floog

Piebuko, my host, has been gracious enough to guide me to the Chocolate Hills, though at this time of the year they resemble something more akin to the Lime hills, with their summer foliage dominant from my hilltop viewing post.

It's a moment of pure tourism amidst the relaxed schedule of the hunt. I'm not one for taking chances and leaving everything to the last minute foibles of ill conceived travel arrangements. I am sure footed, predictable, and I like things just so.

Bohol Itinerary

Posted by: Joni

I’ve been asked a few times by some friends to share the itinerary of our Bohol trip last month. I intended to blog about it earlier but, I don’t know, I was too occupied — lazy, really — to do it. I did share some Bohol photos though if you missed that one!

This summer, most office people sure are itching to get off their boring chairs to enjoy the sand and sun for a change (I know I am), and Bohol is probably one of the most talked-about island paradise destinations in the Philippines. Our trip to Bohol was planned by my friend, Van (we didn’t sign up for some package tour). That girl has been to so many places and nature trips that you just know you’ve got nothing to worry about when she’s around. She did a great job planning our itinerary (Thanks, Van!). Anyway, if you’re looking for an inexpensive vacation, our Bohol experience might be helpful.

Vote for Chocolate Hills

Posted by: Jerry Sisican

Bohol's world famous natural heritage, the Chocolate Hills, has been nominated to the New 7 Wonders of Nature campaign. This campaign is organised by the non-profit New7Wonders Foundation after the resounding success of its New 7 Wonders of the World campaign.

As a native Bol-anon I have been to Chocolate Hills many times. In fact, I still have pictures on my first visit as a pre-schooler. My recent visit was last year when me and my family went home for a holiday. It never failed to amaze me just looking at those thousands of hills stretched as far as your eyes can see. I once went to nearby Sagbayan where some of the Hills are also located. On a ride to an interior barangay in a habal-habal, I passed by some miniature Chocolate Hills! Well, it looks like it and with a little imagination it can be made into a miniature tourist attraction.

Bohol by Mylene

Posted by: Mylene

With our flight, resort and tour reservations complete, all we had to do was wait in vain for our trip.

Two hours before our flight, we were already at the airport. We reached Tagbilaran via Cebu Pacific at around 7 AM where we wer met by our country side tour guide, Kuya Rolly. (Btw, we booked for Spencer but the day before, he called us saying that he had an emergency meeting in Cebu and could not accommodate us. Fortunately though, he was the one who looked for other guides for all our tours.

CVSCAFT-TCC BSCompE ES411 Bohol Tour

Posted by: Macky

I can’t deny that I am also a tourist of my own Bohol province. Never did I reach the whole towns of Bohol but I wish I did. So when our college decided to have an industrial tour in Bohol for the completion of our subject Engineering Materials and Testing, I was excited and got the energy to go.

Bohol Bound: The Best of Bohol

Posted by: Tanya

You should know that the airport of Bohol is in Tagbilaran City, which is their commercial district. The best beaches and resorts are in Panglao, which is 45 mins away from the city. Then the city tour and famous sights of Bohol are scattered across diff areas of this province, so you would need to rent a car to get around.

In my other post, I mentioned that transportation of Bohol is a lucrative industry. There are a lost of Boholanos who can offer to take you around Bohol's must-see sites (apparently there is a standard list) and act as your tour guide for Php 1800-2200. When going to this area, I suggest that you find a driver slash tour guide so you can save on transpo costs. And chances are, they also know people who can tour you by sea around the islands for snorkeling or dolphin-watching. As I said, it is a booming business.

My Beloved Bohol

Posted by: mariepreciousmoments

I was born and grew up in Bohol. It's been more than 2 years that I'm away. One way to ease my homesickness is to just look at some photos.

You can reach Bohol almost any time of the day. There are many scheduled trips if you choose to take the ship or fast ferries from Cebu City pier to Tagbilaran port or to Tubigon port. You can take a flight from Cebu or Manila to Tagbilaran airport and enjoy the breathtaking view of the sea.

My Continuing Love Affair with Bohol!

Posted by: Coolbabe Tita

You think im talking about a guy? Hell no, im talking about one of the Phillipines' most amazing provinces... Bohol.

My first time to set foot on this province was in June 2006. Like an infatuated teenager, i fell in love at first sight. The province is just too amazing to behold. If you are a beach enthusiast, there's the amazing Panglao Island to explore. You love culture and history? Bohol is rich with it too. Nature lover? You'll have the Chocolate Hills (a wonder in itself!), the Hagdanan Cave, the tarsiers (smallest primates in the planet), the beautiful long stretches of white sand beaches, the gorgeous diving sites, or you can have that yummy lunch on a boat restaurant while cruising the Loboc River. Remember the feeling of looking at someone and your heart goes a-flutter? This place just evoked that in me in my first visit.

I came back a week after, on my birthday. It may be a working day for me but Im lucky to have a job that I love and allows me to indulge my infatuation at the same time.

Christmas in Bohol

Posted by: Gibo

I remember several years back, when I and my sisters were still students at the universities here in Manila, our parents decided to come here from Bohol for the Christmas season. On Christmas eve, just as we always did before, we prepared for noche buena. Then, at around 10pm, our father and mother started dressing up to attend the midnight mass.
