Both facing extinction, what is believed to be the oldest and the latest species in the highest class of vertebrates, which is class mammalian, find refuge in the town of Corella.The vast wilderness of this interior town of Bohol has long been the home of the Philippine Tarsier, tarsius syrichta, or locally known as “mawmag.” This nocturnal creature with enormous eyes, large ears with bulbous tips of fingers and toes that can cling to the top branches of trees, is considered to be the world’s smallest existing mammal.
