The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Central Command (Centcom) is set to turn over the lead role of Internal Security Operation (ISO) to the local government units of the provinces of Cebu and Bohol after reporting a winning battle against communist insurgencies in the said provinces.
In his report during the Regional Peace and Order Council (RPOC) 7 meeting at the Cebu Provincial Capitol recently, Centcom Commander Gen. Isagani Cachuela said the AFP will be handing over the ISO of Bohol and Cebu to the respective provincial governments saying the two provinces are now free from communist rebels.
